This seminar will concentrate on Portrait Painting. Paint from
your own photographs of family or friends.
Demonstration and instruction on traditional fine art portraiture and figurative
painting.
Fly into San Luis Obispo,
Take Amtrak to San Luis Obispo.
We will pick you up and take you to our Motel,
Sands Suites and Motel, 1930 Monterey St
You will not need a car during the week.
You can also drive to San Luis Obispo, or bring your RV.
We will meet between 3 and 5pm at Mary Carole's house, which will be our classroom.Setup
is OK.
At 5:30 we will go to a local restaurant for a group dinner. (On your own)
8 am: We move into the classroom at Mary Carole's,
Setup if you did not on Sunday.
9 am to noon: Work on the first painting
noon to 1 PM: Lunch (provided)
1 PM to 5 PM: Continue painting
6:30 PM: Group dinner at a local restaurant. (On your own)
8 am: Classroom opens
9 am to noon: Painting

Walking: The field trip will require walking a number of blocks. The Classroom is on the ground floor, Lunch is served upstairs.
Food: You are on your own for most meals. The Sands Suites provides a Continental breakfast for it's residents. Mary Carole will provide coffee and donuts/bagels each day in the classroom. Lunches will be provided each day, in a "Room with a view".We have arranged for a group dinner each night at a local restaurant. You will order from the menu, which are varied and the prices are very reasonable. We hope you will join us for dinner each evening. You are our guests for the dinner at Mary Carole's & Hilding's house on Thursday.
Supplies: We will send you a supply list before the seminar. Mary Carole will have canvases and supplies available for you to purchase.
Spouses:
We encourage you to bring spouses. There are plenty of activities around
San Luis Obispo to keep them busy while you are painting. There are numerous
golf courses of varing difficulty in the area. They can join us for the field
trip and dinners. There will be a $50. charge to cover expenses.

Reservations: The class fee is $500 for the 5 day seminar. A deposit of $150. is due at the time of sign up. VISA & MasterCard accepted. The Balance is due 30 days prior to the seminar date. A refund will be made, less a $50 service charge, if a request is received more than 30 days prior to the seminar date. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the seminar, no refund will be made if your spot can not be filled from our waiting list. If we are able to fill your spot all monies will be returned less a $50 service charge. All monies will be returned if the seminar is cancelled.
Class Size: Maximum attendance is 15 students. The first 15 deposits received will be guaranteed a seat if their balance is received 30 days prior to the seminar. A waiting list will also be established to fill vacancies and seats not paid for at the 30 day deadline.
